Bhav-Tau shows an indicative gold and silver rate for India, recalculated from the live international spot price roughly once a minute. It is not an exchange quote and not an offer to buy or sell — it's a reference number.
The calculation
Starting from the international spot price of gold and silver (in US dollars per troy ounce) and the live USD→INR exchange rate, Bhav-Tau converts to rupees per gram, then applies:
- Import duty
- GST
- A local premium (a fixed rupees-per-gram adjustment)
That produces the 24K (999) gold rate and the 999 silver rate. 22K (916) and 18K (750) gold are the 24K rate scaled by their respective purity.
Data sources
Spot gold and silver prices come from a live market data provider; the USD→INR rate comes from a currency exchange-rate provider that updates roughly once every 24 hours. Every number on this site traces back to one of these live sources — nothing is hard-coded or invented.
City rates
City pages currently show this same real national rate. Bhav-Tau doesn't have a genuine city-specific pricing source yet, so rather than guess, every city shows the real number until true local data is available.
Price history
Historical charts are built from real daily snapshots Bhav-Tau records automatically. If a chart looks sparse, it's because recording only recently started for that city or metal — it will fill in as real data accumulates, and never with simulated points.
